A customer testimonial video is most useful when it answers a question someone already has about your business. Choosing where to use it matters as much as recording it. The same interview may need a different introduction, length or edit depending on the setting.

## Match the story to the service page

Place a testimonial alongside the service it discusses. Introduce the customer and explain the connection in a sentence or two. A viewer should be able to understand why the example is relevant before pressing play. Keep the written information about the service available as well, so watching is a choice.

## Support a proposal with a relevant example

When a prospective client asks how a similar project was handled, a customer account can add context to your proposal. Choose an example that relates to their brief, rather than sending every testimonial you have. Explain what is comparable and where the projects differ. A previous client's experience is an example, not a promise of the same outcome.

## Use follow-up emails to answer specific questions

A short introduction and a link to the relevant video can help continue a conversation. Tell the recipient what the customer discusses and why it may be useful. Keep the message focused on the enquiry, rather than adding a generic claim that the video will convince them.

## Prepare social edits that retain the meaning

For social channels, choose a complete point that makes sense on its own. Identify the speaker, include captions and check the framing on a phone. Obtain agreement for this use, and avoid cutting away qualifications that change the meaning of the original answer. Keep a link to the fuller story where appropriate.

## An example from our work

The video below features Lorraine of District 32 speaking about Buffalo Film Studios. It provides a customer perspective alongside the information we publish about our services.

## Make the video easy to follow

Provide accurate captions and a brief written summary. Check that names are spelt correctly and that the page works on mobile. Avoid autoplay with sound, and make the next step clear without interrupting the account.

## Review usefulness rather than views alone

Look at the question the video was intended to answer. Did prospective clients refer to it? Did it help explain your process? Where measurement is configured, review relevant page visits and enquiries alongside viewing activity. Views alone do not establish that a video caused a sale.

Revisit testimonials when a service changes or the example becomes dated. Keep the original context clear rather than presenting an older project as recent work.
